Portals - Holographic film installation

Since a few years I have been collaborating and experimenting with different techniques and image-compositions together with Ruud Terhaag. To research a strong physical and surrealistic experience without a narrative concept. This resulted in projects like 'Landerlingen' and 'The Perceptionist'.

Since some time we have been brainstorming about our new concept, the holographic projections project called 'Portals'. In this film-installation we want to research the essence of space in historical buildings. For us, every building has their own soul. This is the sum of it's architecture, history, location and the emotions of the people that lived and worked here. It fascinates us and we want to capture this essence with the help of public participation in surreal image- and sound compositions.

The concept evolves around using these sites as a projection canvas to research and experiment the essence of a space. By experimenting with projection, light and different audiovisual compositions we recreate a story through the fragments of memories.
