'How I lost my body' is a Multi sensory project

in a sensory deprivation tank

’If I believe that I don’t exist does that not impact who I am? Who am I without a body?’’

Writer Esmé Weijun Wang
(suffered from Cotard syndrome)

This urgent and destabilizing question—echoing the lived experience of writer Esmé Weijun Wang, who has written about suffering from Cotard syndrome—forms the conceptual core of the Dis_embodied Project. Cotard syndrome, a rare condition in which individuals may believe they are dead or do not exist, exposes the fragile architecture of selfhood and the profound entanglement between body, belief, and identity.
